Soul Pioneers: Klymaxx featuring Cheryl Cooley Honors Bobby Womack
All-Female Band Brings Funk and R&B to This Saturday's Tribute
Family,
As we count down to Saturday's Bobby Womack tribute, we're thrilled to spotlight one of our headline acts: Klymaxx featuring Cheryl Cooley!
Klymaxx broke barriers in the 1980s as one of the few successful all-female bands of their time. Known for hits like "Meeting in the Ladies Room" and "I Miss You," their unique blend of funk, dance, and R&B continues to captivate audiences today.
Original guitarist Cheryl Cooley, whose soulful riffs were central to the band's signature sound, will lead this legendary group At the 2nd Annual Barbara Morrison Jazz & Blues Festival! Her soulful guitar riffs and dynamic stage presence were central to the band's signature sound, and she remains a driving force in keeping the Klymaxx legacy alive.
