$1,560 Changes a Life. Ten Youth Need Sponsors Today

How $30 per week builds futures in South Los Angeles & New Orleans

In 2025, See a Man Be a Man served 85 young men in South Los Angeles and New Orleans.

The $1,560 Investment

See a Man Be a Man isn't a handout. It's a partnership.

Youth attend nine weekly workshops throughout the school year covering financial literacy, career planning, life skills, and cultural education. They earn $30 stipends for each workshop they complete—$1,560 annually.

They also receive:

  • One tailored suit, shirt, tie, and shoes

  • One leadership dinner at a fine dining restaurant

  • Peer mentorship from a college student who graduated from the program

  • Career connections with professionals in their field of interest

The cost to sponsor one young man for one full year: $1,560.

That's $30 per week. Less than $5 per day.

Who You'd Be Sponsoring

The young men in See a Man Be a Man have clear goals.

  • Future architects. Future chefs. Future cybersecurity experts. Future lawyers. Future entrepreneurs.

  • They're not waiting for opportunities. They're building them—with weekly workshops, professional mentors, and a community that believes in their potential.

Current Sponsors

We currently have three confirmed sponsors for 2025-2026:

  • One board member sponsoring a future architect

  • One community partner sponsoring a future cybersecurity expert

  • One long-time supporter sponsoring a young man pursuing culinary arts

We need seven more sponsors to fully fund our current cohort of ten South LA youth.

New Orleans youth (Michael and Jordan, who joined in October) bring the total need to twelve sponsorships.

Three Ways to Support

1. Full-Year Sponsorship: $1,560
Fund one young man's complete year in the program.

2. Semester Sponsorship: $780
Cover half a year (spring or fall semester).

3. Monthly Sustainer: $130/month
Spread the cost across twelve months.

Every sponsorship is tax-deductible. You'll receive updates on the young man you're sponsoring (with his permission), including his goals, progress, and graduation.

What Happens Next

If we secure twelve sponsors by December 31st, we can:

  • Serve all current LA and New Orleans youth without interruption

  • Expand virtual mentorship to additional cities in 2026

  • Launch professional mentor matching (architects, chefs, tech professionals connecting directly with youth)

Your $1,560 doesn't just change one life. It shows twelve young men that their community invests in their futures.
